Looking Forward to our Move

Today, we got confirmation that we are approved for the lease in Floyd.  Along with our application, our landlord said that he recieved the latest "Mother Earth News" which featured articles on raised bed gardening as well as family living in a small space.  Both artices will be good or us to read, as we are are planning of raising beds for gardening and are a family of 6 (soon to be 7) livng in a relatively small house.

Personally, I am excited about Floyd County.  I know that there is a thriving music community there, one which I can grow as a musician in.  I know that the Floyd Country Store has open jam sessions every Friday night, so I guess that I know where I will be.  I also think that I can possibly get Van driver in there as well, along with some of the other venues in Roanoke proper.

I am also excited to get back into Aikido.  Since moving to Elliston, I have not found anything at all in the area along the lines of a traditional style of Aikido, or any martial art, for that matter.  I know that I am out of shape and I really need a good sweat.  I have contacted an Aikido instructor in Floyd and will be attending his class starting in January. I am greateful for the time between now and January which I can use to get in a little better shape.

About the only other thing that I need to work out is hunting.  There are no public hunting lands in Floyd, so I will probably look to joining a hunt club.  If not that, then I need to make friends with someone that has some acers that will let me hunt their property.  I think that I am close to getting my first kill, maybe even this year.  And with that, I will have all bases covered.  A perfect trifecta of interests for me.

Yes, I am looking forward to this move.
